Another school of thought is that someday IMS will be deployed widely and when that happens, there is no need of Femto's as WiFi can be used as Access technology inside our home. Whenever that happens, we will stop the 3G/LTE/WiMAX vs WiFi debate :)

When IMS will be widely deployed, I think that the mobile data traffic will have been multiplied by 100. I am then not sure that the actual WiFi unlicensed bandwidths (2,4 and 5,8) could cope with that traffic. Also, the big advantage of the Femto for the operators is that it can be fully managed, monitored: they will be able to measure drop call rate, accessibility, voice and data traffic on a per Femto basis.
