I even have to go further.
When I am in my home area I manually enable WiFi and additionally disable data connections via the mobile network.
The reason for the second step is: If I do not disable data connections via mobile networks on my smartphone an automatic switch back to the mobile network happens sometimes (in some rooms) and then the performance is bad (EDGE only). If I disable data connections via mobile networks it keeps the WiFi connection and that is much better.
